BARRY - Sun July 29th 2012

The chemical tanker Stolt Pelican arrived from Rotterdam on 27th.  On 28th she went back out to sea (tank cleaning??) and came back in on 29th - she part loaded and sailed back to Rotterdam on the same day.

Arrived from Warrenpoint where she had discharged part of her cargo of timber that had originally been loaded at Riga.  Photographed as she was about to sail for Le Legue on 31st.

CARDIFF - Thurs July 26th 2012

On 25th The dredger Sospan Dau having completed the dredging of the entrance to Cardiff Bay, came back in, probably to take on stores and water before sailing on 26th bound for Selsey Bill.  Two arrivals on 26th - Poprad arrived in ballast from Foynes and is loading steel (?) for Greenore.

Arrived from Cork (at night) and sailed on 28th, for Porto Vesme (at night) so just this long shot of her loading at D shed in the Queen Alexandra Dock.   UPDATE - a better picture below, taken when she returned to Cardiff  and loaded for Porto Vesme again - Jan 2013.

Eships Quest arrived from Tjelbergodden on 22nd - in port for a couple of days, not sailing back to Norway until 25th.

Arrived on 23rd from her usual berth on the River Ely at Cardiff.  She berthed in the Number 3 basin and sailed on 27th apparently towing something, but don't know what or where to - I didn't actually see her this time, so this is a  photo of her assisting with the arrival of a dumb barge, and about to lock into Cardiff on 16th October 2017

Two arrivals today - Union Emerald with a cargo of timber from Halmstad, she is part discharging at Ryans Wharf and will sail for Newport on 27th to complete discharge.

CARDIFF - Thurs July 19th 2012

Some activity in the past week - the tanker Bro Designer was back on 16th with another cargo of oil products for the Chevron Terminal. Two arrivals on 17th - return visitor Fehn Mirage came in from Warrenpoint and loaded a cargo of steel (?), sailing for Algeria on 19th. And the dredger UKD Orca arrived from Port Talbot for repairs - she sailed for Avonmouth on 18th.
On 18th, over at Penarth, I saw the dredger Sospan Dau working the entrance to Cardiff Bay, she was being assisted with levelling and plough dredging by the tug Kamsar.

Seen arriving from Belfast - in ballast.  She loaded at the Pontoon Wharf (a wharf usually used by vessels discharging bulk aggregates) - I don't know what the cargo was.  She sailed on 14th bound for Wessem (a small inland village in The Netherlands about 20km north of Maastricht).

CARDIFF - Weds Jul 11th 2012

3 Arrivals today - Fehn Mirage came in from Port La Nouvelle (France), she berthed on Ryans Wharf in the Roath Dock to discharge - I don't know what the cargo was.
The tanker Jutlandia Swan arrived from Foynes in the early hours, she discharged at the No 1 Oil Terminal in the Queen Alexandra dock.  Sailed for Fawlay (for orders) after dark the same day, so no photo.

Since the last post for Barry (almost a month ago) chemical tanker Eships Quest has called 3 times - on June 14th and 23rd and again on July 5th each time arriving from Tjellbergodden.  Chemical tanker Stolt Redshank has called twice, on June 23rd from Le Havre and July 3rd from Antwerp.

An early morning arrival from Dublin to load liquid chemicals.  She sailed for Antwerp on 7th.

CARDIFF - Weds July 4th 2012

On 3rd the tanker Bro Distributor arrived from Milford Haven with oil products for the No 1 Oil Terminal in the Queen Alexandra Dock.  She stayed for a couple of days lay over, moving to the Seawood Shed wharf on 5th and sailing back to MH on 7th.

I missed her arrived from Briton Ferry.  She loaded wood pulp at the West End wharf in the Queen Alexandra Dock.  She is seen on 5th July, approaching the lock, about to depart for Norrkoping - she had been due to sail at 1800 hours, but that was put back to 2100 hours when the light was fading fast, so just this distant picture.

CARDIFF - Sun July 1st 2012

Since the last posting, it's gone a little quiet.  On 25th June the tanker Bro Deliverer brought oil products from Milford Haven for the Chevron Terminal - she returned to MH on 26th.
On 26th Aasvik arrived from Belfast with a cargo of stone (aggregate) which she self discharged onto the Pontoon Wharf - she sailed for Port Talbot on 27th.
On 28th the regular visitor, container ship Sara Borchard  arrived form Leixoes - she sailed to Liverpool on 29th.

Arrived from Diliskelesi and discharged at the Seawood Shed - I couldn't see what the cargo was.  She is seen sailing on 5th July bound for the local Usk Port.  For some reason the mast atop the accommodation had been lowered, and not put back up for the short sea passage.
