CARDIFF - Fri June 21st 2013

I've been away for ten days, so a bit of catching up to do, luckily it's been quiet while I've been away so I haven't missed many 'new' ships.

on 3rd June Arion arrived from Bilboa with containers, she sailed for Antwerp on 5th.  Mentioning containers, Cardiff appears to have been dropped off the Borchard Lines regular container service, between the west coast UK to Spain/Mediterranean, the last time one of their ships called was back in February.  The containers they used to drop/collect at Cardiff are now being taken to Dublin and handled by the feeder service - more info below.
On 5th June the tanker Bro Deliverer came in from Milford Haven with oil products for the Valero Terminal, she returned to MH on 6th.  The paddle steamer Waverley arrived at Penarth at the start of 3 week period of excursions on the Bristol Channel, on this occasion she sailed for Minehead.
On the 6th the sail training vessel Stavros S Niarchos came in from Plymouth, she berthed on Britannia Quay and sailed on 9th bound for Brixham.
On 8th Coronel arrived 'light' from Sharpness.  She has taken over the feeder container service between Cardiff and Warrenpoint and has now added a call at Dublin.  She has taken over from Huelin Endeavour who has been carrying out the service for about nine months. (as these ships arrive and depart about 3 or 4 times a week I don't record the movements, likewise movements of the sand dredgers Arco Dart and Welsh Piper)
On 10th, (as she only makes occasional calls to Cardiff), the sand dredger City Of Cardiff came in from Swansea, she discharged at Hansons Wharf and went back to sea a couple of hours later.
On 11th Trenland arrived from Warrenpoint she discharged at H Shed and sailed for Avonmouth the next day.
On 12th, two tanker arrivals with oil products from Milford Haven Bro Distributor discharged at the Valero Terminal amd Sichem Hong Kong at the Number 1 Oil Terminal.  Both returned to Milford Haven
15th saw the arrival of AB Valencia with scrap metals from Liverpool.  She discharged at Ryans Wharf and sailed for Sharpness on 16th.
A night time arrival and early departure meant that I missed Thun Globe on the 18th.  She had arrived from Milford Haven with oil products for the Valero Terminal and returned to MH later the same day.  UPDATE: Thun Globe was back at Cardiff on 23rd - now added a photo, below.
Two arrivals on 20th, Mittelplate from Nigg (Scotland?) she's loading at A shed and is due to sail for Porto Vesme on 22nd.  Holstentor arrived from New Ross and is loading steel products at the Number 1 Berth, she is due to sail for Greenore on 22nd.

CARDIFF - Sun December 2nd 2012

After a quiet start to November, arrivals at Cardiff have picked up:  On 26th November the occasional visitor, sand dredger City Of Cardiff  arrived from Swansea via the Nash Bank where she had loaded, she sailed later the same day returning to the Nash Bank.
On the 27th the coaster Rodau (I missed this one, so no photo) arrived in ballast from nearby Portbury, she loaded (steel/wire products?) and sailed for Greenore on 30th. UPDATE: Photo now added below.
On 28th two arrivals: tanker  Bro Genius came in from Milford Haven, discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Plymouth on 29th.  Anja (I missed this one too) arrived from Aviles, she discharged at D Shed and sailed light for Antwerp on 1st December.
On 29th coaster Berthold K made another visit to Cardiff from Halmstad, she sailed on 30th bound for Belfast.
Three arrivals on 30th:  Aasli came in with a cargo of stone (aggregate) from Belfast, she sailed for Port Talbot on 1st December.  The coaster Maimiti arrived from Istanbul/Black Sea, she discharged at H Shed and sailed for Rotterdam on 4th.  The tanker Jette Theresa (I also missed this one) arrived from Rotterdam.  She discharged at the No 1 Oil Terminal and sailed for Antwerp on 2nd December.
Three arrivals on 2nd December - tanker Bro Gemini arrived from Avonmouth, discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Milford Haven the same day.  Antiguan flagged coaster Arion (I missed this one) arrived in ballast from Emden, she loaded at D Shed and sailed for Porto Vesme on 5th.
