Orca arrived in Barry on the 22nd and is carrying out the dredging of the outer harbour and entrance channel.  She is seen here heading out to drop her dredgings at the spoil ground.  She finished work at Barry on 29th Jan and proceeded to Portbury.  Usually there are a number of small vessels on moorings in the outer harbour - the lifeboat, pilot boats and.........

Mair - ex Clovelly Class Naval Tender RMAS Horning  (A1773) - looks like she's heading for Cardiff/Penarth while the dredging operations are taking place.  She's normally based at Barry and carries out contract work on the west coast of the UK on behalf of Trinity House.

CARDIFF - Sat 16th Apr 2011

Since the last post the Danish coaster Nural Stevns arrived from Rochefort on 9th and sailed on the 13th for Portovesme (Italy) she arrived and sailed at night so was unable to get a photo of her. More details  of her here.  I also missed the tanker Bro Gothia arriving from Milford Haven on the 12th and sailing for Antwerp on 13th.

UKD Orca in the afternoon sunshine (looking very smart for a dredger), had arrived at Cardiff on 14th from Portbury.  She spent 4 days dredging the Wrach Channel - the main entrance channel to the dock entrance before departing for Mostyn via a brief stop-over at Swansea.
