CARDIFF - Tues December 18th 2012

Three arrivals on the 13th:  The dredger UKD Orca arrived to carry out the periodic dredging of the Wrach Channel (entrance to Cardiff Docks).  The tanker Paterna arrived from Milford Haven with oil products for the Valero Terminal, she returned to MH the next day.  With the short daylight hours at this time of year, most arrivals and departures are in darkness, so no picture again.  And Arklow Rose arrived from Birkenhead to load scrap metal at the EMR berth, she sailed for Ghent on 15th.
On the 14th, the container ship Sara Borchard arrived from Leixoes, she sailed for Liverpool on the next tide.
The 17th saw the arrival from Avonmouth of the tanker Bro Deliverer, she completed discharge at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Milford Haven on 18th.

Thun Gothia

The recently renamed Thun Gothia (ex- Bro Gothia). Arrived from Milford Haven, she discharged at the No 1 Oil Terminal in the Queen Alexandra Dock and returned to MH on 19th.  I missed the arrival and departure.  The picture shows her arriving in her new colour scheme on 8th April 2013.

CARDIFF - Weds December 12th 2012

Two arrivals today - Gerhard Wessels Prasident (no photograph) arrived from Warrenpoint.  She berthed at H Shed, completed her discharge (I don't know what the cargo was) and sailed on the next tide.

Another of Peter Dohles' smart looking ships, arrived from Ijmeuden with a cargo of steel.  She discharged at Ryans Wharf and sailed on 13th bound for Wismar.

CARDIFF - Tues December 11th 2012

There were two arrivals on 6th - tanker Bro Gemini was back again from Milford Haven with oil products for the Valero Terminal.  She sailed the same day for Avonmouth.  Peter Dohles' Celina  made a quick visit, arriving from nearby Uskport and returning there 8 hours later.
Two more arrivals on 8th - the tanker Patani arrived from Milford Haven, she discharged at the Valero Terminal, then had a few days layover, not leaving for Milford Haven until 11th.  And Finja came in from Barry to complete her discharge of timber at H Shed.  She sailed later the same day, bound for Le Trait (France).
On the 9th another of Peter Dohles' ships - Chyra, arrived, this time from Ijmeuden with a cargo of steel for Ryans Wharf.  She sailed on 11th bound for Nantes.
Two arrivals on 10th, container ship Joanna Borchard came in from Dublin, she sailed for Leixoes on 11th.  Tanker Bro Genius arrived from Milford Haven, discharged at the Valero Terminal and returned to MH on 11th.
Two arrivals on 11th Melas came in from Itea (Greece), she discharged some sort of aggregate (must be something special to bring it all the way from Greece!) at the Pontoon Wharf.  She sailed on the next tide, bound for Swansea.

Arrived from Finnart (Scotland).  She discharged at the No 1 Oil Terminal and was photographed as she departed on 4th December, bound for Milford Haven.

CARDIFF - Sun December 2nd 2012

After a quiet start to November, arrivals at Cardiff have picked up:  On 26th November the occasional visitor, sand dredger City Of Cardiff  arrived from Swansea via the Nash Bank where she had loaded, she sailed later the same day returning to the Nash Bank.
On the 27th the coaster Rodau (I missed this one, so no photo) arrived in ballast from nearby Portbury, she loaded (steel/wire products?) and sailed for Greenore on 30th. UPDATE: Photo now added below.
On 28th two arrivals: tanker  Bro Genius came in from Milford Haven, discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Plymouth on 29th.  Anja (I missed this one too) arrived from Aviles, she discharged at D Shed and sailed light for Antwerp on 1st December.
On 29th coaster Berthold K made another visit to Cardiff from Halmstad, she sailed on 30th bound for Belfast.
Three arrivals on 30th:  Aasli came in with a cargo of stone (aggregate) from Belfast, she sailed for Port Talbot on 1st December.  The coaster Maimiti arrived from Istanbul/Black Sea, she discharged at H Shed and sailed for Rotterdam on 4th.  The tanker Jette Theresa (I also missed this one) arrived from Rotterdam.  She discharged at the No 1 Oil Terminal and sailed for Antwerp on 2nd December.
Three arrivals on 2nd December - tanker Bro Gemini arrived from Avonmouth, discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Milford Haven the same day.  Antiguan flagged coaster Arion (I missed this one) arrived in ballast from Emden, she loaded at D Shed and sailed for Porto Vesme on 5th.

Arrived with a cargo of some sort of bulk aggregate (possibly granulated blast furnace slag?) that she had brought from Sauda (Norway).  She returned to Brevik (Norway) on 3rd.

BARRY - Thurs November 29th 2012

17th November saw the arrival of Eships Quest from Bergen, she sailed for Tjelbergodden on 18th and was back again on 28th, returning to Tjelbergodden on 30th.
Two arrivals on 29th - Stolt Sanderling came in from La Pallice, she loaded and sailed for Antwerp on 30th - with a night time arrival and departure I was unable to get a better photograph.
