15th November the coaster Romi arrived from Mo I Rana (Norway) with a cargo of timber (?).  She discharged at the Seawood Shed and sailed for Rotterdam on 17th.  I missed the arrival and departure, so no photograph.
Two arrivals on 16th - regular visitor, container ship Sara Borchard came in from Leixoes, she sailed for Liverpool on 17th.  The tanker Bro Designer came in from Milford Haven with oil products for the Valero Terminal, she returned to MH on 19th.
The 23rd saw the arrival from Leixoes of container ship Rachel Borchard, she sailed for Liverpool the same day.
Two arrivals on 24th - Paterna arrived from Milford Haven with oil products for the Valero Terminal.  A night time arrival and departure, so no photograph.

30th October, Stolt Razorbill arrived from Nantes, she sailed the next day bound for Antwerp.
4th November, Eships Quest arrived from Tjelbergodden, she returned there on 6th.

Two arrivals on 5th - container ship Charlotte Borchard arrived from Dublin and sailed for Leixoes on the next day.  Aasvik arrived from Belfast with a cargo of stone, discharged at the Pontoon Wharf and also sailed the next day to Port Talbot.
The tanker Bro Genius arrived on 8th from Avonmouth, discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Milford Haven on 9th.
Two arrivals on 9th - containership Joanna Borchard came in from Leixoes and sailed for Liverpool on the next tide.  Aasvik was back again, she has very quick turn-arounds - she left Cardiff on 6th, went to Port Talbot and loaded clinker.  She took that to Belfast, discharged, then loaded stone and is back just 3 days later. She had another quick discharge at the Pontoon Wharf and was on her way back to Port Talbot on the next tide.
The 11th saw the arrival from Milford Haven of the tanker Bro Distributor, she discharged at the Valero Terminal and returned to MH on 13th.
Two arrivals on 14th - Lady Christina arrived with a cargo of timber from Riga, she discharged/part discharged at the Seawood Shed and sailed for Warrenpoint on 15th - arrival and departure were in darkness, so no photo.

Two arrivals on 30th October Merle came in from Liverpool, unloaded scrap metals at Ryans Wharf and sailed for Sharpness on 31st.  The coaster Ida arrived from nearby Newport, she loaded at D Shed and sailed for Randers on 2nd November. The tanker Bro Genius arrived from Milford Haven on 1st November, discharged at the Valero terminal and sailed back to MH the next day.
On the 2nd the tanker Bro Goliath arrived from Milford Haven, discharged at the Number 1 Oil terminal and returned to MH the next day.
Three arrivals on 3rd - the tanker Nordic Copenhagen arrived from Rotterdam, she discharged at the Number 1 Oil terminal and sailed on 5th for Barry Roads to await orders.

Two arrivals on 22nd:  the tanker Wisby Verity was back again from Milford Haven, she part discharged and sailed for Plymouth the same day. Mittelplate arrived in ballast from Avonmouth, she loaded bulk minerals at D Shed and sailed for Porto Vesme on 25th. Two arrivals on 24th:  Union Emerald came in from Belfast, she berthed at Ryans Wharf and sailed for Rouen on 26th.  The tanker Bro Atland arrived from Gothenburg, she discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Milford Haven on 26th.
The 25th saw the arrival of regular visitor - container ship Rachel Borchard from Leixoes, she sailed for Liverpool on 26th.
Three arrivals on 26th:  The tanker Bro Genius back again from Milford Haven, she part discharged at the Valero Terminal and sailed for Avonmouth the same day. Eva Maria Muller arrived in ballast from Sharpness, she loaded at Ryans Wharf and is due to sail for Bilbao on 28th.

Container ship Joanna Borchard arrived from Leixoes, she sailed for Liverpool on 12th (the last time Merle and Joanne Borchard were at Cardiff, they both arrived on the same day too - 17th August) The third arrival - tanker Bro Genius came in from Milford Haven, she returned there on 12th.
On 13th, the tanker Bro Deliverer came in from Milford Haven, she sailed for Avonmouth on 14th.
On the 14th the locally owned Celtic Pioneer arrived in ballast from Warrenpoint, loaded steel at Ryans Wharf and sailed for Greenore on 17th

Two months since the last new arrival at Barry.  In that time Eships Quest has called on 13th and 23rd Aug, 26th Sept and 7th October.  Stolt Kestrel arrived from Cork on 22nd Aug and sailed for Antwerp on 23rd.  The sail training ship Stavros S Niarchos arrived for the Barry Waterfront Festival on 31st August.  Stolt Guillimot arrived from Harwich on 10th Sept and sailed for Antwerp on the same day.

Two arrival on 5th - Aasli arrived from Belfast with a cargo of stone (aggregate) and sailed for Port Talbot on 6th. and the dredger UKD Bluefin arrived from Milford Haven, she sailed for Avonmouth on 8th.
The tanker Bro Globe arrived from Milford Haven on 6th and returned to MH on 8th.

On 19th August the tanker Bro Deliverer arrived from Milford Haven with oil products for the Chevron Terminal, she returned to MH on 20th.
On 23rd Jan V arrived in ballast from Newport, she loaded steel products and sailed for Greenore on 24th.
On 25th, the container ship Sara Borchard arrived from Leixoes, she sailed the same day bound for Liverpool.
There were two arrivals on 26th, the chemical tanker Stolt Razorbill came in from Rotterdam and discharged at the No 1 Oil Terminal, sailed to sea for orders on 27th.  Carisbrooke Shipping Ltd  Balu C  arrived from Honfleur and is loading in the Queen Alexandra dock - I missed her arrival and will miss her departure, so no photo.  UPDATE:  Balu C came  back to Cardiff on 16 September 2015, photo and details now added.

A frequent visitor to the Bristol Channel  - regularly taking cement to Sharpness.  On this occassion, having discharged there, she sailed to Cardiff and loaded bulk aggregates(???) at Ryans Wharf.  Photographed on 19th, having departed Cardiff and dropped off the pilot at Barry, she is bound for Bilbao.

On the 9th the container ship Charlotte Borchard came in from Leixoes, she sailed to Liverpool on 10th.
On 10th the tanker Bro Genius was back from Milford Haven again with oil products for the Chevron Terminal, she returned to MH on 11th.

On 4th, the chemical tanker Fen arrived from Rotterdam.  After discharging at the No 1 Oil Terminal she returned to Rotterdam - it was a night time arrival and departure, so no photograph.
Another tanker arrival on 6th - Bro Genius came in from Milford Haven with oil products for the Chevron Terminal - she returned to MH on 8th.  Also on 6th, the dredger UKD Orca came in from the Bristol Channel where she has been working on clearing the dock entrances at Newport and Bristol ports.  She will depart in a few days, after a crew changeover.

On 30th the smaller tanker Bro Gemini arrived from Milford Haven she discharged at the Chevron Terminal and returned to Milford Haven the next day - I missed this one, so no photo - UPDATE photo/details now added below.

Photographed arriving from Cork.  Her arrival was delayed while she waited for the tug Nobleman to come out of Barry.  It's unusual for a ship of this size to need the assistance of a tug, so wonder if she had a problem with her bow thruster.  She will berth in the Queen Alexandra Dock and load steel (?) for Algeria.

Arrived from Warrenpoint where she had discharged part of her cargo of timber that had originally been loaded at Riga.  Photographed as she was about to sail for Le Legue on 31st.

CARDIFF - Thurs July 26th 2012

On 25th The dredger Sospan Dau having completed the dredging of the entrance to Cardiff Bay, came back in, probably to take on stores and water before sailing on 26th bound for Selsey Bill.  Two arrivals on 26th - Poprad arrived in ballast from Foynes and is loading steel (?) for Greenore.

Arrived from Cork (at night) and sailed on 28th, for Porto Vesme (at night) so just this long shot of her loading at D shed in the Queen Alexandra Dock.   UPDATE - a better picture below, taken when she returned to Cardiff  and loaded for Porto Vesme again - Jan 2013.

Eships Quest arrived from Tjelbergodden on 22nd - in port for a couple of days, not sailing back to Norway until 25th.

Arrived on 23rd from her usual berth on the River Ely at Cardiff.  She berthed in the Number 3 basin and sailed on 27th apparently towing something, but don't know what or where to - I didn't actually see her this time, so this is a  photo of her assisting with the arrival of a dumb barge, and about to lock into Cardiff on 16th October 2017

Two arrivals today - Union Emerald with a cargo of timber from Halmstad, she is part discharging at Ryans Wharf and will sail for Newport on 27th to complete discharge.

Approaching Cardiff (off Lavernock Point) with a cargo of oil products, from Milford Haven, which will be discharged at the Chevron Terminal in the Roath Dock.  She is expected to return to Milford Haven on 25th.
