CARDIFF - Fri 11th Feb 2011

I had taken a break for a couple of months - the cold weather in December confined me to the house for long periods.  Being on the north shore of the Bristol Channel and the low angle of the sun during winter limits the photography - unless you're into silhouettes!
Anyway I'm back - I've checked out some new locations for viewing the ships and the best times to use them for photography - all I need now are some ships.

Carrying out the annual dredging of the entrance to the Cardiff Bay locks is Westminster Dredgings Welsh named Sospan Dau.

Assisting with some plough dredging and leveling of the areas that Sospan Dau couldn't reach, was the small tug/workboat Kamsar - some way from her home port of Barrow-in-Furness.

Small, London registered survey vessel belonging to MMT Group (Sweden) has been on the Bristol Channel for about 2 months, carrying out high definition seabed mapping.  Berthing in Penarth Marina on her 'off days'.
