BARRY - Weds May 1st 2013

Over a month since the last new arrival at Barry.  In the meantime there have been a few arrivals and departures.  Eships Quest arrived from Tjelbergodden on 28th March and 8th April, on 21st April she arrived from Bergen.  On 30th March Stolt Egret arrived from Le Havre and sailed for Antwerp the next day .  On 6th April, the tug MTS Valiant towed the jack up crane barge Deep Diver 1 back into dock from Hinkley Point where  she had been working.  MTS Valiant sailed later the same day bound for Brixham.  On the 13th Stolt Puffin arrived from Dublin and sailed for Antwerp the next day.
On 27th MTS Valiant arrived from Liverpool Bay, she had only been in port for a few hours, when she had a call to proceed to Lands End.  She sailed at 2300hrs and arrived off Lands End at approx 1000 hrs the next morning.  Here she took Skagenbank (details) under tow and towed her to Falmouth for emergency repairs.  Skagenbank had left Swansea at 0700hrs on 27th and steaming slowly towards Lands End (awaiting orders) she had a major mechanical breakdown of engine or steering.  Luckily the weather was good and she was about 12 miles offshore and drifting parallel to the coast so, in no immediate danger.
Her emergency duties over, MTS Valiant arrived back at Barry on 30th,
